The Sundance Series TR-1600 Recreational Building in the Home Depot Tuff Shed Brochure looks exactly like the Classic Manor New Day Cabin.Home Depot sells Tuff Shed. And they have a building that looks exactly like the Classic Manor New Day Cabin.
The doors are glass, which lets a lot of light in. We bought the model 2-Story building from the parking lot of Home Depot. When we bought it, it was the Classic Manor New Day Cabin. Now they sell Tuff Shed Sundance Outbuildings. I posted the photos of them putting it up, but I never got photos of the inside once we got it more finished. At both ends of this spectrum, tiny homes have an appeal.

It has 768 square feet of space for $14,156.00, $18.43 a square foot. The next biggest thing is paying the house off. The land and property build cost around $435,000 and we did get a loan for some of it. We're trying to make double mortgage payments each month, so hopefully we will pay it off in 15 years or less.
That's when we went to Home Depot and saw a two storey shed they were selling. We decided to give it a go, and build our own tiny house out of that shed. This building is way more than just another shed. The TR-1600 boasts the most usable floor space and cubic square feet of any TUFF SHED Sundance Series® building other than a really large garage.
How much does it cost to build a 200 sq ft tiny house?
It's just the three of us, we don't need a huge space. Our builder said we have the perfect land for a basement, but we don't need one. We liked minimal living in the camper and the tiny house shed, so even though this is the dream house, we still wanted to keep it practical.
The tiny house shed was two storeys and 860 square feet in total. We also put a bathroom under the stairs, so it was a one bedroom, one and half bathroom house. We had a full kitchen with everything we needed, and had one very big bathroom and bedroom upstairs with a walk-in closet.

In fact, many say it's a way for the outdoors to become an extension of your home. What the tiny home may lack in space, it can make up for in quality of life and connection to nature. Our Classic Manor New Day Cabin has 8 windows that open, double glass doors, the porch, vents on both ends and a roof vent that runs the whole roof. Then we finished it ourselves with insulation, drywall, flooring, power, gas, AC and gas heat, phone lines, coax and ethernet. Later we added under the floor insulation and skirted it with Hardee board. Jason Crocker walks you through a few tiny houses, mobile homes and shed to homes.

They also have different ramps to get your mower in. It can be any size, it doesn’t have to run the whole way. And you can move the door and the porch to any wall. End wall or side wall, whichever works where you are putting it.

That build started in June 2021 and took about eight months. The house is beautiful, it's our dream home. DownstairsThe double door makes it really easy for my husband to move things in and out.

The Tuff Shed brochure lists a lot of available upgrades. Not all upgrades are available on all sheds. We bought the Classic Manor New Day Cabin and finished it inside to make an office and workshop.
There are companies that sell pre-made modular homes. I did not see any of those available from The Home Depot. These sheds look like tiny houses and the price is inviting. But, there are many obstacles that need to be overcome before you’d be allowed to live in one. Visit my page, Converting A Shed Into A Tiny House for the details.

The cost of a tiny home is significantly less than the cost of a larger, multiple-bedroom home. Additionally, upkeep and maintenance are more affordable with a smaller home. The bronze medal goes to an 18′ deep version, the 18′ x 28′ x 21’6″. It gives 1008 square feet for $17,499.00 at $17.36 per square foot. The building shown here has optional paint, optional 3′ x 3′ windows, and 3′ x 2′ windows, optional shutters, ridge vent and custom sidewall porch upgrade.
With the upgrades we had to get, the shed was about $27,000 but in total it cost $60,000 to complete our tiny house. You probably couldn't build the same tiny house for $60,000 now. The goal with the shed was to live in it for a few years and build our dream house on the same property, and then the shed was going to be a suite for our families to stay in. Like any major home purchase, the shift to tiny home living comes with trade-offs and adjustments. Here’s what you need to know about the benefits and costs of giving the Home Depot tiny house a try.
